So I purchased the double pack and a single pack of Betty Crocker au gratin potatoes to serve with Christmas dinner. Upon opening the double box, I immediately noticed that nearly all the chips were crushed.

I then opened the single box and found they were mostly intact but very thin and practically transparent. Box appeared intact and not crushed so can rule out shipping, so must be the two packages are made in different plants. Opened my cupboard and found Idaho Spuds brand Au gratin potatoes and found they were nearly twice as thick and fully intact chips. Not wanting my family to eat potato mush, I combined the Idaho brand with the better of the two BC packs.

Then I found trying to come up with the correct proportions of water, milk and butter that the ratios for the Betty Crocker brand don't even make sense. The 4.4oz double pack packs call for less water and more milk than the 34.7oz single pack. Are we making a different sauce pack for each as well? SMH.

Thought I was getting a quality product, but obviously, you got me.... Going with the cheaper brand from now on.
